HUH

Doesn't a NAV of $14.70 ish automatically mean no div ?

You'd think so, but there was a big surprise a couple of months ago. There was no dividend on the announcement day, but a day or 2 later Brompton gave a separate announcement.

But isn't announcement day today ? Is it based on the closing NAV last night ?

I fear this is manipulative dumping based on a lack of knowledge and transparency.....

Just a slight difference in wording.  There was NO declaration there would be NO dividend but rather Brompton declared dividends on other stocks but for whatever reason excluded DGS and subsequently advised the dividend "would" be paid.  I'm personally hoping for a similar situation this month and assume we'll hear on Monday if not today.

The last time it happened it was on the cusp by a penny or so. Unless today finishes extremely strong, I don't see it happening but will be happy to be wrong.

This. Pretty challenging to make informed decisions if the informers are not principled enough to stick to their guidelines. Annoying to lose out because someone changed the rules in the last inning.

Brompton did change their mind a couple of months ago, however the unit NAV showed $14.99. A penny under threshold ( not counting payment of distributions). Yesterday's posted unit NAV is $14.78, $0.22 difference! We should be so lucky??

The exact wording on the Announcement back in JULY: 2022-07-22 15:46 ET - News Release   An anonymous director reports DIVIDEND GROWTH SPLIT CORP. DECLARES CLASS A SHARE DISTRIBUTION Dividend Growth Split Corp. has declared a distribution payable on Aug. 15, 2022, to Class A shareholders of record at the close of business on July 29, 2022, in the amount of 10 cents per Class A share ...more

This is really interesting mouserman. The unit NAV posted online on Friday, July 22 was indicated as $15.09 as of Thursday, July 21, resulting in an NAV of $14.99 after accounting for distributions. The news release you posted stated the actual NAV as of the same date as actually being greater than $15 after accounting for dividends, suggesting their initial calculations were erroneous.
