Because DGS's history of paying out is far more steady than DF ever does. I imagine there have been many traders who bought DF at a premium when it was paying and have been bagholders for a very long time and looking to just get out.

It's just a time delay.  When the nav changes fast or crosses the threshold, the price lags.  Some investors don't look, others know but hope it lines out.  If DF and DGS have similar navs, they will cross prices soon....like LCS and DGS did in the last few weeks.

Actually DGS actually has a higher share price for the commons today, and the NAV is about $1.50 lower after distributions are paid. Today LCS has 75% of their holdings green, No other split fund i am looking at has that kind of % up. DGS may have about 50% of their holdings green. ...more

It dropped from the $7 level to $4.60 last June when it missed and from almost the same level to $5.50 when it missed in November. But I still see a lot of support between $6 - $6.10 today

I would not be surprised for DGS to straddle the threshold for paying over the next month. March is typically volatile and this year will likely prove no different as the market wrestles with a possible 1/2 bsp hike. Then, of course, what will be the language going forward will determine how DGS trades.   Odds of a recession are easing, which should help DGS's energy holdings, but ...more
