RE: 4 years of gains wiped outHere's a partial solution to the credit card crisis problem. Take all those people who lied on their applications for their credit cards about their income, and those that abused their cards deliberately without conscience, prosecute them and make them work it off by doing community work. That aught to help the economy and should teach them one lesson. They can't catch them all but can sure find some. It should set an example for others.
