Huge 870 million$ Montreal Olympic stadiumPomerlau from Beauce who has it's entry every where in QC has won the enginering contract.
Naturally, Canam will be working on that project
That will keep Canam busy for a while.
Canam cannot win every contracts. There is a limit to your production capacity.
But a the same time, we have seen that Canam has in the past sub contracted part of their steel
work to DRX
A few example:
-The recent new Samuel de Champlain bridge in Montreal. This was a Canam
contract but 8900 tonnes was subcontracted to DRX
-The Mercedez Benz (Atlanta Falcon NFL) where Canam subcontracted 1992 tons to DRX
-The Flushing Meadows Arthur Ash tennis stadium where Canam subcontracted 2000 tons
to DRX
Also Pomerleau gave works on many projects to DRX including the Videotron Center and the
new Montreal transport center.
Once again the major infrastructure contracts will be keeping Canam and ADF Group for many years to come.
The Big O ring will be done in glass but it will need to be supported by a steel structure.
On the link below, you can see on the third photo, the structural steel structure design.
