Heading for the FTSE100?

EDV is currently in the FTSE250 midcap index but it's London market cap. is now approaching £5bn.

It needs about another 10% share price/market cap. gain to qualify for automatic inclusion in the FTSE100 large cap. index (next review date, 1st December). If index entry looks imminent, that is likely to trigger another wave of buying from FTSE100 trackers and similar funds.

Fingers crossed!

wow...now thats an interesting tidbit. well done marben! so, if i look at gold running through 1800 resistence, and edv announcing earnings of the combined terranga/semafoe low cost machine.....then methinks FTSE 100 gets us to those universal analyst price projections north of 40 buck chuck! now....what could go wrong?

Don't jinx it biker !  lol $ 1835 is supposed to be the key technical level that gold needs to break out of.  We are so close. In my opinion, if it does, a $ 3 share advance for EDV would be very achievable....which would in turn invite an LSE inclusionary boost that Marben speaks of) Bring on just a few more non-transitory inflation headlines, and maybe one more poor jobs report ...more

My thinking is that gold doesn't need to go up a whole bunch.  And it going up a bunch quickly might not be that good, for EDV and other gold companies.  I think that everyone just needs to get confidence that gold wont go down.  EDV , and others, are great money making machines now, at the present price of gold.  And at this price of gold should be worth much more than ...more

the stars do seem to be aligned for a solid advance. Most of my success as a gold -gold stock investor has come from slow and steady, so averaging down- and being ready for aggressive moves north to sell into strength.- interesting to hear the pundits starting to call it . lets see what the uk institutions do tomorrow after results- if gold can close the week above the 1830's......there will ...more

We're on the cusp! After a good reaction to today's results in London, showing a 4% gain, EDV's market cap. now stands at £5.25bn. Currently, we need to reach £5.6bn on1st December for FTSE100 entry this year. There are currently 6 eligible companies whose market caps we need to surpass to get that entry. Cheers, Mark
