Eldorado Gold, facing the threat of a lengthy arbitration process the minister said 3 months so that is untrue, it is not lengthy, plus it is not a threat it is already in progress with the government over permits to complete a gold-mining and processing plant at Skouries in northern Greece, was that 1,200 jobs are at stake in an area of high unemployment. Production at Skouries was due to start this year but has now been pushed back to 2020.The key issue for Greece is that the benefits from these investments should have accrued already, how come this is the first time I see this mentioned, what does Burns mean by that ? it is somewhat condescending and arrogant if he said that, I am sure the Greeks see that, said George Burns, Eldorados chief executive.Eldorados travails in Greece are often cited where are all these citations as a disincentive for investors worried about bureaucratic delays and the countrys tangled legal system. While Syriza lawmakers from the Skouries region claim that goldmining will cause irreversible environmental damage, the companys proposals for the project have been upheld in 18 cases misleading but it helps to say that, all those cases were not on the current question in arbitration now, they did not all have anything to do with the specific issue at hand heard by expert judges at the council of state, Greeces highest administrative court.
