RE:Ontario Energy Storage Electrovaya is in the process building a highly automated battery assembly line in Mississaugua. This equipment will help Electrovaya assemble bus and truck batteries in an efficient manner. The new ESS will also use the high voltage battery modules. This assembly line along with modules produced in Jamestown will allow these batteries to be competatively priced and help de-bottleneck the supply chain.

The Jamestown Plant will also be working into the 3000MW demand for New York State.
Energy storage is critical to New York’s clean energy future. As renewable power sources like wind and solar provide a larger portion of New York’s electricity, storage will allow clean energy to be available when and where it is most needed.
Energy Storage in New York
In 2019, New York passed the nation-leading Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act), which codified some of the most aggressive energy and climate goals in the country.
- 6,000 MW of Solar by 2025
- 70% Renewable Energy by 2030
- 3,000 MW of Energy Storage by 2030
- 9,000 MW of Offshore Wind by 2035
- 100% Carbon-free Electricity by 2040
- 85% Reduction in GHG Emissions from 1990 levels by 2050
