I've read countless studies showing that stock pickers under perform the market. 90%+ of hedge funds and money managers can't beat the market. The vast majority of retail investors can't beat the market.
Picking stocks is a losing strategy over the long term. Stock pickers are highly likely to significantly under perform the market, and this is backed by empirical data.
That's why I'm moving to Index funds. I might never outperform the market, but at least I won't significantly under perform it.
