As government policy multiculturalism could have been changed or reversed by any following government if it chose to do so.
Many people warned of the dangers of rewriting the constitution at the time it was negotiated, but Canadians ignored them, and now it is next to impossible to correct the errors. It is unlikely Canada's slide into poverty and third world status can be reversed or even slowed.
