Now about Blue Mountain. The hotels are open. So what's the purpose of it all? Can you find out how many times the people in Grey county booked a room at BM resort? You think they open the hills for locals? Think again.
This is what happened in summer time in St Catharines on Sunset Beach in the middle of covid pandemic. Each driver ids was checked at the gate to prove residency and allowed Niagara region residents only. You think BM would do that? They would close shop right away. Same for Craigleith, Alpine and all private hills in the area. I can't imagine the private hills selling their 20k annual membership to Grey county residents.
Well, we have been in lockdown a long time. We live in NOTL which has been in in a red zone for weeks. There have been zero covid cases in our kids school. The number of cases overall in the region went up only due to GTA traffic. However GTA traffic is needed. It's what keeps NOTL and Niagara region afloat. What happens to the turism industry is just traggic but htat's a different topic. GTA money keeps regions like Niagara, BM alive.
Got to say that both me and my wife are fortunate and we are able to get the Pfizer vaccine for some time now (in the US - yes we paid for it - it's roughly 52 US both doses in case you were wondering). Yes, we are allowed to cross the border.
