RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Electric Cars by 2035

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Electric Cars by 2035Queenie, You should not be ashamed. It's OK.

Green is great. Decisions without cost analysis are not. Governments are what they are, it's impossible to please everyone.

People like Marner are gonna pay for stuff like this, not Queenie.

Queenie, btw when it the last time you paid taxes?

Let's talk about what this means. All residential units will have to add superchargers. All across Canada. Who pays for it? Home owners, landlords etc.

Think about all high rise buildings in Canada. There is not ONE building to have EV charging option for each parking spot. Not ONE. Moreover, all condo projects in pre-nconstruction stage with occupancy in 2026 don't have this in their design. Who is gonna pay for it? Condo owners of course. I guarantee you that none of the projects plans submitted for approval in Canada take in consideration this requirement.

As an immigrant I recall renting in a multi residential building in Toronto early 2000s. Washer / Dryer was coin operated. Parking options outdoor (most parking spots) + limited indoor. They were not the greatest buildings. Can you imagine these buildings having coin operated laundry and superchargers? It's science fiction. Who is gonna pay for it? Well ... landlords which will pass the cost to renters at a premium.

Politicians are at the core of this storm. Same things happens in Ontario ... People that do the work learn from TV via PRs about projects that they have to manage and deploy in record time without proper analisys. They watch the news and next day politicians call in ask favours to deploy their projeects first with top priority.

LMAO  GFY AH!

Queenie strikes again.

He doesn't care about costs. What business or family does? Spoke like a true liberal as the current Canadian budget shows.

Queenie has a great job in the top 10% range salary wise. He agrees to be taxed extra as he is part of the exclusive "rich" category.

He owns a Tesla Y (or more) and goes camping with his family. A lot.

He actually made the debate team. Here on SH. Still back-up cheerleader.

He is white.

The above are not real. Queenie, in fact I believe that:

- you don't own a car
- you do not afford a Tesla
- never went camping
- never booked a room at a 5 star hotel just because you deserve it
- vacations outside of Canada - no way unless Cuba (just maybe) - staying close to Justin til last breath - why would anyone drive to California, Yellowstone, Florida, East Coast in a non EV car?
- you live with your parents / no rent
- no way you own real estate (unless a Barbie house)
- no family of your own / no responsabilities (not that there is something wrong with that)
- you don't read much (google-ing is not reading), you barely passed history
- you can't tell the left from left
- you are not too happy at work
- basement light is not too good
- you can connect any two words and make a irelevant connection between them. followed by LOL (which makes you reallly happy)
- you think rich people should support poor people even if they don't want to. just because
- you think that "white" is "super bad" .... and you as "non-white" are "super-good"

No wonder you count on the help of the government. You think you should do much better so why not tax people like Marner a little bit more cause  ... well ... you deserve it!

Being opinionated doesn't make you ... anything!

OK. A Tesla Y is 60k CAD   crossover SUV has almost no maintenenace gets 500 kms per charge and runs on about $50 a month electricity.  Should take you camping.

 "Huge generators at gas stations"

Generators eh?.  They generate electricity right?.  I have one do you?  Now I don't even have to drive out of my affected area to fill will gas I just charge at home using clean natural gas.
Go Enbridge!

"Only you can make a connection between Winnipeg and HydroOne"

You mentioned them not me.  500km per charge.  Even if they cut it in half in the winter it should take them to work and back.  If they even have to commute to work anymore.

"Obviously you were on the debate team. The cheerleader of the debate team. The great contradictorian. The successfull guy that is very succesfull yet is never concerned about costs. That can mean one thing. Probably you don' own a car. Probably you don't pay rent. Surely don't own your home. Probably you don't understand why families need bigger cars."

You are making a lot of assumptions here.  If these guesses are as good as your investment guesses and economic predictions you are not fairing very well.  Here are my assumptions for you.  You live beyond your means in a neighbourhood you can't afford and drive  status vehicles you can't afford as you try to keep up with the in-law's expectations.  You have to worry about costs because they are killing you and you are not sure what you are going to retire on.  Here is my advice for you:  Start eating a littlle dog food everyday so that you get used to the taste. LOL

"That's OK dude, we get it. Do you?"

You do huh?  2035 was the date.  14 years from now and the technology already exists and people are already using it.  I don't think you get squat.

silkos wrote: This is not about my family. Think of a camping trip. That kind of car. Yup, white people go camping. Skiing. Kayaking. Mountain bike riding. Did your folks ever take you camping? What were they driving?

Huge generators at gas stations for safety reasons mosty. You can almost always drive out of the affected area to get gas. Since most EVs will rely on the power outlet in the garage, this is going to be a problem in a urban area right?

Only you can make a connection between Winnipeg and HydroOne. The only thing they have in common is that their leaders are not "non-white". The reference to Winnipeg was only to point to a city with a very long winter.

Obviously you were on the debate team. The cheerleader of the debate team. The great contradictorian. The successfull guy that is very succesfull yet is never concerned about costs. That's OK dude, we get it. Do you?

Quintessential1 wrote: I am glad they are on board, I can't wait to see a decent family car oferred at a decent price too.

Okay, what is your idea of a decent family car and a decent price?  What is your family car?

Funny how we are all gonna miss HydroOne that was sold under the previous ON gov.

Why did it go somewhere?  I sure hope the Winnipeggers were not counting on Hydro one for their electricity needs.

What if the power is out?

I guess the gas station won't be selling you any gasoline.  They run on electricity too.

Do you recall when we were asked not to use the AC unless really have too?

Yup, do you know how long ago that was?  Do you know why we aren't asked to anymore?

Once the grid is overloaded, then what?

What if the power is out?

As for Winnipeggers,  maybe they can finally stop lighting fires under their oil pans.

silkos wrote: Bold statements. What would international auto companies say about this? Are they going to be ready in time or are they gonna close shop?

I wonder what people in Winnipeg think about this.

Liberals say by 2035 all new cars, light-duty trucks sold in Canada will be electric
