The problem is the gangsters and thugs don't seem to give a Fiddler's Fcuk what you think, what the cops think, or what the courts think. In fact, the courts are 99 % of the problem. The cops lock 'em up, the courts slap their wrsits and release them. Catch and release in Can-Er-DUH has been an EPIC fail, although it has provided infinite job security for the country's po-po.
Why wouldn't a thug take your mother's car at gun point ? He KNOWS she doesn't have a pistol in her purse and he KNOWS if he does get caught he gets a wrist slap, is released on bail, and is home in time for supper.
Since the tugs have no incentive to stop doing what they're doing, then I feel having something to fight back with like a legal handgun really is the only option. I don't see spineless Can-Er-DUH invoking a "Three Strikes And You're Out" law in my lifetime.
In quite a few front windows of the homes I saw in Florida over the winter, I saw a sign that read" No trespassing, this house is protected by God and a gun, If you trespass, you will meet them both"
Perhaps if we had warnings like that here bcked up by a firearm in the home, those folks the other night in Toronto wouldn't have had their Lambo jacked during a home invasion. Maybe, just maybe, the cowardly punks that broke in to their home might have thought twice if the possibility of having their nuts blown off was on the table.

If the buffalo shooter was using a bolt action rifle I amsure someone would have got to him. A five round clip seems like more than enough ammo to take down whatever herd you are hunting too.
