Does anyone know what the plans are for the old Line 3? I assume it will be phased over time or will it continue to operate indefinitely at ??? Rate.

Line 3 will be left in place but will not operate. Least distrupive method. It is after all just iron. The line will be drained and monitored There is some good information on the ENB website regarding this.

For those want to read more about the future of the existing Line 3, you can find the information here as suggested by wannabebuffet. Line 3 Deactivation There is cost associated as per the web page "whether they are active or not. Enbridge will continue to monitor the deactivated pipeline and maintain the right-of-way.".
