What is the thermal imaging supposed to be evidencing? Interesting that the Department of Transportation apparantly pierced an aquifer that they couldn't fix and Minnesota didn't collapse in on itself.

It is possible if that was a perched aquifer.

By all accounts the aquifer that Enbridge breached is artesian.  The MNDOT aquifer breach has no information that I can find.

Well they were hit with a fine for that mess. And they will work to fix it no doubt. To correctly map groundwater flow accurately is a very difficult task, and not always successful. I learned this by having been involved in such activities during the North American Hydrologic Decade. The posted "report"  such as it is, makes very little sense. It is not telling of what actually happened such as where is the water flowing, and what quantities are ivolved ...more
