Investing strategiesExperienced:
A "buy low - sell high" strategy is a good strategy that seems to work for you. Good on ya!
The 13% yield that ENS generates via a partial tax-deferred monthly income satisfies my monthly needs.
Typically, high yields are associated with higher risk, but in the case of ENS, I would say the risk of ENS not paying its monthly dividend is minimal due to a number of reasons that I have previously stated on this forum. The high yield from ENS allows me to invest the majority of my portfolio in other things.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with investing in financials/utilities/preferreds/fixed income investments to provide income. However, those investments offer much lower yields which means there is less left over to invest in growth stocks.
As you have stated, a "buy low sell high" strategy can work, but there are risks associated with the strategy such as missing break outs.
Like you have said many times, the trick is to pick a strategy that works for you and stick to it.
BTW, the Premium to NAV for ENS is currently 6.75% as I write this note.
