It's just gold futures speculation. The market thinks the Fed will raise insterest rates and stop inflation because Powell became a "Hawk" all of a sudden.  He didn't and they won't, there's way too much per capita and especially government debt and deficit spending. This is short term and a great opportunity to get in.

Exactly right. The amount of pain that even a 1 point rate increase will bring to the market will ultimately back fire.
