RE:Cobalt..Tesla's weak linkGreat article, Sumitomo gets cobalt from a JV with the Coral Bay Nickel project in the Philippines, they only produce 1500 tpy form the info I find on the web. If Tesla needs anywhere from 7000 to 15750 tpy as stated in this article, you can see the urgent need to establish a North American cobalt supply. I think the race is on for raw materials between Sumitomo/Panasonic/Tesla and the Chinese EV battery companies.
