RE:RE:WNNI see you are a seller ;) good to know
Nothing to worry about in the N. Korea/US fiasco in the short term. Just a couple of blow hards talking trash (and a great distraction from domestic news that both Trump and Kim badly need right now - a page out of a Putin playbook). You will get weeks notice prior to a strike as western government citizens/embassy staff will be removed and US troops re-enforced prior to any strike as Seoul is well with in retaliation range. But you are right it will drop the market (which was long over due).
Saw the South Korea & US power plant articles today as well. Not unexpected or a huge head wind but disappointing. South Korean was a blind side for sure months ago with the cancellation of all plants, I dont know anyone who saw it coming. I suspect its political decisions based on an unpredictable neighbour.
The US is a whole other story. Nuclear is stuck in between cheaper Nat Gas (which f*cks up the environment) and subsidized solar/wind which is great but not even close to a total base load power solution. Its in a bad place right now and need SMR's, subsidies, or higher Nat Gas prices to help and without signing on to the Paris treaty, there is no guarantee on subsidies. But most plants run well into the late 2020's-2030s which leaves plenty of time for my 1-5 year plan.
