The two companies that did that ..are one in the North Sea ...Ithaca energy taken private by an Israeli outfit the other was a heavy oil ply on Loydminster Canada ...taken private by a senior manager that quite his position at bank of Nova Scotia to take over and stole that company ...it will take me a moment to think of the guys name sorry getting old

But did either turn around and resell the company for a quick gain? FEC is over 50% owned by Vulture Capitalist, who bought FEC for pennies on the $ to resell. It would be far too complex, costly and time consuming for them to get all of the the approvals needed to take private then flip it.
