08:17 AM EST, 02/16/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. (FFH.TO) said Wednesday that it acquired an aggregate 5,416,000 subordinate voting shares of Fairfax India Holdings Corp. (FIH-U.TO) from two shareholders at US$64.9 million or US$12.00 apiece.
The transaction increased Fairfax Financial's equity interest and voting interest in Fairfax India to 41.80% and 94.94%, respectively. Prior to the purchase, Fairfax Financial owned a 37.92% equity interest and a 94.61% voting interest in Fairfax India.
Fairfax Financial said it acquired the subordinate voting share for investment purposes.
