I've been quiet because it's a busy time of year for me. Still holding every share and will buy more at every dip. I still read every post here but fact is there's not much I can add...

That was very insightful and impactful. Thank you for sharing.

I believe likening a man to Rhett Butler is the epitome of a compliment a woman can give to a man. I wish so much I can say the same thing to someone...(sigh)

Growing up in abject poverty, my parents looked toward me as a means to lift them out of it. I didn't know what the plan was, but I knew I was a woman. I knew my lot in life and I tread accordingly. They kept telling me how lucky they were to "own" a tall and beautiful daughter. A wealthy man will come...

And he did. But I made my point clearly and resolutely: "I will get us out of poverty, but it will be through hard work. I'm never selling my body to an ignorant and arrogant wealthy man. With that much money, he will have plenty of pets to choose from."  Mom was furious. She always thought I was a dimwit. How could I have chosen such a rough patch to pursue.

That day, the day I left my family. Hungry, homeless. I vowed that I'd never have to go back to living like this. It was like how Scarlet made that vow when she was back to Tara after the war. I was so much like her, minus the callousness. Scarlet was willing to murder and steal to never be hungry again. That I can never do.

Being hungry is not easy. You can't think about anything else except your hunger.  It tenaciously  gnaws at you and distracts you from everything else. And so I, with a burning desire, to make as much money as I possibly can, so I could put an end to my misery, to regain control of my life, to fulfill my filial devotion, and to answer proudly to my mom that I need a wealthy man like a fish needs a bicycle.

This is why I'm so happy when people share with me how they make their money. As long as the means by which to make it won't cause me to commit an immoral or illegal act, won't force me to have to sell my body...then I'm good to go.

Fast forward, I now have enough money to not have to worry about it. But then again I don't need much of it. I can't even eat the foods that I want so I can maintain my figure; I don't judge other women by the number of designer handbags they own and I therefore don't base my worth on them.  For god's sake, I don't even wear make up.

But having more money means there are more options, including the option to donate/give more to the people who you are going through the tribulation you once had to go through

Thank you again for sharing.
