I hear a lot on the board about humble and fume but what exactly do they provide? Why do we contract out a sales team that takes a percent instead of supreme forming their own sales team? Is this something that's normal in the industry? From what I take they are just on the eastern provinces?

Yes I see the web page. Lots of cool things on it but I dont see anything about any supreme products.
Comment by nearnorth101 on Dec 03, 2020 8:42pm
I noticed that too , I wonder why? As for using Humble and Fume it makes sense as they have a natiional wide sales team that goes door to door to the stores, it's a lot more likely the stores will stock your product when the store owner/manager talks to someone in person. It would be cost restrictive for Supreme to assemble their own sales team
Comment by maritimedreamer on Dec 04, 2020 5:15am
I follow a few of their sales reps and they are always supporting supreme on their ig stories etc.... we also have seen a clear impact as the number of stores we are in has now increased dramatically (check quarterly reports). Lastly this is cost effective for supreme (although details not clear) is surely cheaper then having an in house sales team.... which we had and paid stupid $ for little ...more

Id have to agree Jiff. H&F are just a drain on the bottom line. Sure this would be worthwhile if they were getting sales up. But they simply arent. Rec sales are sideways. This was another bad move by Supreme that Beena now has to deal with. Unless rec sales begin to grow exponentially, I'd be axing these guys asap and paying hte contractual obligation.
Comment by StayInvested on Dec 04, 2020 8:14am
Does context not matter (covid, etc)? Could you explain your statement of sales being sideways? In terms of KG sold, it is most definitely not. I cringe to think what Supreme's retail sales would have looked like if they hadn't had a sales agency doing the legwork for them. How can you state it is a drag on the bottom line, do you know the specifics of their %? Not sure how anyone is ...more

I used to work for Pepsi. So I have an idea how sales work. H&F are not getting it done. Id be curious to know the cost of doing business. But Supreme wont disclose.  Why are other LPs towering sales over Supreme?
Comment by George141 on Dec 04, 2020 8:42am
hey brent, speaking of Pepsi..did you hear when Pepsi sent executives to the jungles of Brazil so the they could promote the product in the jungle and deliver pop machines...mind you the "coins' would be made out of bone..to simulate the dollar coins. Well, the plane crashed and the cannibals ate the executives. The FBI sent a team down to investigate and naturally they brought 3 roasted ...more

You didn't really answer any of my questions. Working for a company like Pepsi, that is extremely established with great brand recognition is a far cry from the industry and regulations that H+F must comply with.  I'm not an expert, but my wife owns a successful agency that represents some of the fastest growing clothing brands in North America. It isn't just "talking to ...more

Nobody is agruing with you man. I can only go by what I see. And I see no 7acres presense in any store I've vistied. Doesnt mean it doesnt exist elsehwere. Just stating my observations. Jiff is also stating the same situation in Alberta and Sask.  My point is, I dont think its prudent to be signing contracts with sales agencies that dont have the reach to customers that others do. You ...more

Friendly stranger just opened in Oshawa right beside the Costco and beer store , talk about one stop shopping .  They are offering 7acres products during a promotional event ,  15% off.  FS has now opened 9 stores in Ontario and is probably one of the oldest chain's since they've been around quite a while,  they seem to embrace 7acres,  next time I'm there I ...more

thanks! that would be great , always good to get feedback from the stores
Comment by JiffBeasauce on Dec 04, 2020 8:34am
So Humble and fume is a national sales team with 0 exposure on the west coast? Yes, we are getting into many more stores but with the stores that are being opened, that would be expected either way. Would be nice to see some numbers that show the value they provide. For what its worth supreme brand is growing significantly in alberta without them. The guy at the store told me they are ordering 100 ...more

Tough to push the product through the market. Rather than listen to sales people retailers will listen to their customers. The increase in kg's sold was the result of price cuts which made 7 Acres competitive. This is far from made in the shade.
Comment by brentkostaa on Dec 04, 2020 9:18am
Ya a good sales team wouldnt depend on 30% price cuts to see a bump in kg sold. A good sales team would have 7acres end caps and adverts in each store. I've seen none.
Comment by Greenman519 on Dec 04, 2020 9:10am
Humble and Fume is across Canada. They have sales reps/account managers for Eastern Canada, as well as BC, Alberta, Sask, Manitoba, Ontario.. (not sure about Quebec) Look up some of their guys on Instagram, they are doing alot of promotion in stores and online. They do great retail displays to get consumer attention and do staff training/product info to the budtenders of stores they visit to ...more

Hmm thats intresting I live in alberta and have never seen them. I have talked to two store mannagers who said they deal with supreme directly and didnt know anythinkg about H+F. Maybe we will start seeing more as the pandemic comes to an end. Also I do lots of work in saskatchewan and havint seen anything there.
Comment by brentkostaa on Dec 04, 2020 9:20am
Ive never seen a 7acres advert in any store I've been in. Ive never been upsold 7acres. I had to ask if they had it. Though, one budtender said it was very good weed after I requested.
