Just a thought...

We don't currently have any production or plans for edibles correct? The craft lines are great and will continue to provide fantastic margins, however edibles are appearing to be the real growth as huge potential as a lot of people would prefer to chew it than smoke it. Is it possible that this raise may be to purchase the equipment necessary? I am also in on Agraflora (which if you think fire is tough, have a look at that Sh*%t show of a company). They are supposed to be gearing up to white label edibles for multiple companies. If fire were to be able to do this, it would also allow them to use any unsold write down product for edible production. Just a thought anyways.

No comparison C02, most would like to have FIRE's 'problems'...there has been a complete overhaul in operations and production with the major shift to rec, of which is much more than just the switch to and install of CPG from bulk B2B sales, add covid, markets totally blind with the move to socialism and the erosion of jobs and middleclass wealth. FIRE has yet to roll out on the rec ...more

I agree with all that Opt. I wasn't disputing the growth potential. But what I'm saying is it would be an interesting play if that 20 million fund raise was to venture into edibles (R&D and equipment). Therefore expanding into multiple new sku's, along with being a front runner into a vertical growing market. Also it would allow us to use wrote down product for the edibles.

$20M into an edible capital expenditure would be a big waste of money.  Edibles only makes up less than 3% of the market. Better off not wasting that money and just focus of profitability before anything else.

if we venture into something else im sure beena would only go towards high margin high demend products. im hoping more for an investment to open us up to u.s. markets

I would agree that profitability is the most important item right now especially to increase SP however the edibles market will become the fastest growing. Selling flower only will not get fire to where it should be. I'm not saying it should be done now but it will need to be done soon. Even though it is diminishing, there is still a stigma to smoking weed. Much easier to simply chew on a ...more

This is such an incredibly narrow minded opinion! Look at California, Washington State and Colorado - in all locations, edibles have steadily grown their market share relative to bud/oils. It would be ludacris to ignore edibles as they continue to grow in popularity.

Definitely. I believe that eventually they will become as much or even perhaps more popular than the flower itself. It introduces all the people who do not wish to smoke it, an opportunity to obtain the benefits without the hassles of the flower. Hopefully fire has a plan to get into that segment or we could be missing out on a lot of future revenue.

I feel edibles are pretty broken due to regs in their current state - specifically referring to the 10mg per package limit. This will significantly limit the potential of this niche until HC loosens up the restrictions. Right now you can buy 30x the quantity for 2-3x the price that you would pay on OCS from some of the "gray market" websites, making buying off OCS pretty much a rip-off ...more

Not sure about the edibles C02 but wouldn't dismiss the idea either...Beena has plenty of experience in different product areas and would do a proper assessment prior to moving into any new area. Right now they need to get the current product lines to market and selling to full production. If the net margins are there I am all for etibles but the flower and oil lines need to be brought to ...more
