Welcome back, fans of John Honderich
It's a gift that keeps on giving. Just 13 months ago, the canny purchasers of Torstar paid $52 million for that whole sick mess of properties, including VerticalScope. Yesterday they cashed in $125 million for 60% of the company, retaining a stake worth around $80 million. You could pat them on the back, or you could say that John Honderich, the man who gave away his inheritence, is just about the dumbest f*** ever.

I'd say it's a bit of both. Honderich completely inept - new Torstar team smart enough to see the opportunity to steal the company for peanuts.
