Apparent USA presidential executive order

Elite posted this on the AVL RE site but seems to have significant relevance to us cobalt people - infact it seems more about Critical metals, including cobalt, than RE's - good will come from this ....

https://nypost.com/2020/10/01/trump-orders-increased-mining-of-rare-earth-minerals-to-counter-china/

The order states, “our Nation’s undue reliance on critical minerals, in processed or unprocessed form, from foreign adversaries constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat, which has its source in substantial part outside the United States, to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States. I hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat.”

“Our dependence on one country, the People’s Republic of China (China), for multiple critical minerals is particularly concerning.”

“Though these minerals are indispensable to our country, we presently lack the capacity to produce them in processed form in the quantities we need,” it continues.

“By expanding and strengthening domestic mining and processing capacity today, we guard against the possibility of supply chain disruptions and future attempts by our adversaries or strategic competitors to harm our economy and military readiness.”

Great news -- or should be. So far today almost no volume on FT and the price is flat. By contrast, AVL is up 20% and over 2.5 million shares traded in two hours. What gives?

Great to read with ones own eye...click on that blue link in Jims post - there is a lot of good information in that exec order ( even Biden should be happy with ), i noted and liked (amongst many things) if Goad has spken to Ammerican rivals and Government we shoudl be seeing some action...i think this is the best political news for our mining i have seen in a long time.   (i) reduce ...more

Agreed FT with some where between 10 and 13 % of the worlds reserves it should be another eye opener. Few deposits in the world have the electrification components that FT has in the configuration of our technical deposit. Further Canada in its own right has everything and when you get to the bones of it the NWT has it all with exception of potash and aluminum ( the the best of my knowledge). What ...more
