RE:RE:Emera's Performance My wife & I own full positions in both EMA and FTS. I always thought their share prices tracked each other quite closely but EMA has always had the bigger dividend yield,.
I just went and looked at the two charts overlain on each other and overal in the last 3 yrs, that's the case but there was some flip-flopping between 2013-2018 . Here's the scoop:
- 1, 3, & 6 mos - within a percent of each itehr
- 1 yr - FTS by 1.5%
- 3 yrs - EMA by 3%
- 5 yrs - FTS by 19.8%
- 10 yrs - EMA by 10.3%
Anyway, I really like them both and suspect this current correction is pretty much done for the 2 of them. Still a ways to go on the pure renewables like BEP, NPI, etc.
Ciao

EMA has only outperformed FTS over the past few days.
A look at the three month chart shows that EMA stock price has underperformed FTS.
Over the long term, FTS stock price has significantly outperformed EMA.
