Like Safeway grocery stores (Air Milkes) here or Sobeys (Aeroplan). Often extra miles are offered on products which are put on a price special. Combines loyalty reward miles and a cost saving in groceries for the shopper.
The same idea can be used in auto sales, rather than depend solely on stand alone promotions. For example, giving 5000 reward miles on a regular priced car could be a tough sell. The dealer's promotions should always come first. Then Aeroplan is taylored around those as a value added component.
Aeroplan would be offered more frequently throughout the year and not just for a time limited promotional periods. In turn, this would help boost Futura's revenues.
Anyway, my two cents worth on the subject of value added. This in response to why around 10 cardealers left Futura's website in the past year. The first was a Honda dealership in Salmon Arm, BC. It's important Aeroplan is marketed with its full potential.
