By SomaBull on Roxgold, posted today. He makes the argument that Fortuna is getting a very good deal in Roxgold. My comment:

This is a lousy deal for Fortuna, not because Roxy is cheap or expensive, that's an afterthought. Rather, if the deal is done it will be impossible to maintain the fiction that Fortuna has much to do with "Silver". About the only way to claw your way back up the ladder would be a namechange that works "Blockchain" into the moniker.

This is the foolishness of the market. People are on the silver bandwagon just like they were with "blockchain". Names mean nothing. Mr Ganoza made it clear when he went ahead with Lindero that Fortuna is a miner and first and foremost a miner in the business to make money. I like that. If it costs $15 to make an ounce of silver and it sells at $26 its a good business. If it costs $900 ...more

Most of the 'silver' miners now produce more gold/base metals. Nothing new.

Maybe the question to ask is did Fortuna overpay for Roxgold?  instead of worrying about synergies, geographic location ,  etc.
