Goodfellow Sees Green Shoots of Pricing, Demand Recovery in 2024 -- Market Talk

Goodfellow is seeing signs of recovery in early 2024 after a challenging 2023 as demand and prices in the retail flooring sector begin to normalize. The Canadian company says there was a significant downturn in demand, which led to an oversupply in the market. Goodfellow says the flooring category suffered "the most significant setback" in the second quarter of last year, which was made worse by demand and prices for hardwoods declining considerably in that time. Goodfellow says that signs of recovery are becoming evident so far this year, and that the diversity of its product offerings should help it navigate the challenges ahead.
