I admit to being slightly confused by cambridge report.  Report states they would get 335,000 oz if they were to get a royalty on all their existing properties.  So at the current gold price they would get only $700M.  Yet they would have to fund the developers to put the mines in production and thus the value in their properties is the 335,000 oz.  Dont know how much they ...more

They already own the royalties on their own projects, they don't have to pay for them. I didn't see the 335,000 oz mentioned, but at $1950 gold that's worth $653 million US or $871 million Canadian.  Plus any drilling or expansion can increase that number, once a mine gets going they often find more reserves to keep the mine going. rborhi, Been out of the loop for awhile, but wanted to thank you for explanation.  Makes sense.  It will take awhile to partner and develop the assets to realize the value in the ground. That could be a good thing given fed inflation goals, currency devaluation, etc which should keep gold on a long term upward trajectory.  Of course the market will drive up the price long before ...more
