You can exercise the wts anytime before the expiry date of 3 June 2021. Phone the TD trading desk and tell the broker that you want to exercise your wts. The process takes a couple of days (possibly a bit longer because of the holidays). Essentially you are surrendering your wts, paying the strike price, and then receiving shares in return.
So if you have 10000 wts, they will be removed from your account along with $2600 (ensure you have sufficient funds) and shortly after that, 10000 GRN shares will appear in your account. There are no capital gains to worry about because you haven't sold anything.
While many of the new momentum players may take their profits and run, my guess is that not many of them are holders of wts. Most investors who have been here for awhile will likely exercise all of their wts and continue to ride this train for the next 3 - 5 years as future potential for both the company and sector appears to be strong.
