Aside from share price ... smells right for some bolt-ons

This environment that we are seeing in biotech is typically a good period for Goodman's team.
A green light to buy may be close.

They are waiting for the markets to get ugly and then they might make a few bolt-on deals.
If anything comes in 2023, might be small deals and watch for a few to happen all-at-once.

GUD isn't interested in telegraphing that it's doing some buying - so - if they make some pick-ups, they just might structure them to happen at exactly the same time.

Just watching for it - but - nothing is guaranteed with these guys/gals.

-------------

Nearly two years after biotechnology stocks began to tumble, executives at small and midsize companies in the space are finally accepting that share prices aren’t bouncing back anytime soon.

With reality setting in, it’s a buyer’s market for companies looking for acquisitions and partnerships, according to many of the pharmaceutical and medical technology executives who gathered at this year’s healthcare investor conference, which wrapped up in San Francisco on Thursday.

Have the Mr Goodmaan team traveled in LATAM? You should ask in the next AGM

For now we have no clue about a bolt-on acquisition or a catalyst for the next year. Unless the company shows significant growth and EBITDA we could be value trapped here for some time.  Again I don't see a catalyst in coming months.
Comment by MrMugsy on Jan 15, 2023 6:20pm
You are correct. This is definitely what you'd define as a value trap. Has always been like that. Even the bolt-ons likely won't offer real value from a share price perspective. But they eventually will happen and the value trap will continue. It took 19 years to become a success the first time - filled with years you'd define as "value trap." I wouldn't bet on when ...more

We have to be realistic too. If they can't growth + 15 % this year and have $ 45-50 M EBITDA many investors will be disapointed by the exucution/platform.  Yea + 15 % revenue growth and $ 45-50 M EBITDA are my expections for 2023. What are yours numbers expectations ?

I think it depends on how you're measuring success. Share price or underlying business growth/execution. Obviously, we're all here for share price appreciation, but as long as they continue to execute then it will be a matter of time. If we were to back up one year and you'd tell me we'd have 15% growth in sales, buy back 10% of the stock, refine the GBT acquisition and workforce ...more

I should also note, in 2023/24, if there's a resurgence of inflation and deeper recession, then its very possible the share price is lower in that period. Investors may not want to be in Latam and sell regardless of how the underlying business is faring.  The silver lining to that scenario is there is more opportinuty to put our cash to use for bolt-ons and as always buy back cheaper ...more

Yes EbbFlow ... agreed. On the positive side to your 2023-24 inflation/recession comment ... there are other things that could happen to counter those negative events and keep the share price pretty stable. I would assume pretty flat still in 23-24 but that's where I say slow accumulation and all the ups and downs really don't matter for this play.  IMO.

Any one of you would like to try to travel to Latam? Great idea... all of them have travel warning and your insurance will be void and 100% sure you will be muged. What a bunch buffoon you all are. predending not to know what is hapining in latam. It s all over the news

This is the last thing I'll say for a while.. Any time I've heard of investors speak of Knight in the last couple of years, they mentioned that the company has gone nowhere for the last 8 years. Management was over-hyped. Raised too much cash, etc. and they are so glad they sold. All of that has been true or true to some extent.  However...GUD is completely different today than it ...more
Comment by MrMugsy on Jan 16, 2023 12:18pm
Yes ... well said.  It is completely different. We've gone from a company bringing in sales of $300K in the first year to sales around $270MM now. It's a huge change and eventually it will pay-off (IMO). It's a patient chess play. Here are a few hidden items that could also play out  but I'm only going on expectations from a team that's doing it again for a second ...more

These aliases have been telling the same bs loosing story for 10 Years while GUD dropped from $10 to $5 and stuck there now for many Years. The only reason GUD share price is above $5 is because GUD is the buyers with money from the PP and not from the profits as they have had none.  Is GUD stops buying its share the stock price will drop below $2 its real value The defination of madness is ...more

Hahaha - my response has been removed because of a human rights violation. My word ! Short answer ... I am hoping for 15% growth y-o-y by the time I sell my shares - that's my goal Slow accumulation until then. Shareholders might get upset - doesn't matter. This company is in the hands of a few - making sure ROW gets built and execulted to plan. The endgame is what matters to them - not ...more

No it is not Palladin 2.0, I think you oversimplify. GUD had never been a microcap, they raised too much money and capital has been dead capital for too long
Comment by MrMugsy on Jan 16, 2023 8:50pm
Not sure what you're saying Snowball - it definately isn't dead capital. The money was used to acquire and grow revenue from $300K to a quater billion in 7 years. The first 3 year was mostly about heavy financing and building the Canadian arm. The capital is far from dead. Now the share price ... that's been dead ... but I knew that was going to be the case all along. I don't ...more

Dead capital? more like waisted capital in latam and GUD share buyback at $5 over valued. They shoul let the share drop to $2 and maybe than activate the buy back.
Comment by Chianchin on Jan 17, 2023 6:14am
The north America media does not report much to what is happening in LATAM or careless. Read latam  papers and use google translate. I had to cancel my vacation to latam that was to starting next week. Try to book a trip to latam? Mugsy's head deep in the sand knows it all but does not face reality
