Been up to 1.60 and 1.65 before, next business day, the balloon pops and Gear drops two dimes or so, over two to three business days.  See what happens today and the whole of next week. If it goes to 1.70 in a couple of weeks with no beat down, Gear might have some staying power.  But this is the point where people sell at 1.60 and buy back at 1.40.  It is a good strategy, but timing is everything.

Yeah, but as lashing says, Gear is like an ATM. The problem with the swing trade analogy is that swing traders sell high and buy low. If all the swingers are doing the same tactic, who is the continual loser buying high and selling low. Considering the daily volume, that the general market is still avoiding the oil market and oil investors are fairly canny about market games, I speculate ...more
