Q4 Debt (-$2.4 M)

Monthly Update
https://gearenergy.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2022-December.pdf

As some people on this forum predicted, GXE had to use a small amount of debt to cover the monthly dividend in Q4.

If WTI stays near $80 and the WCS differential continues to narrow, GXE should be able to resume covering the dividend from cash flow.

"GXE had to use a small amount of debt to cover the monthly dividend in Q4." That is one way to look a it. I see it differently. The need to borrow a few million dolllars came from the substantial increase in capital expenditures in Q4

Nice perspective Pierre :) Those capital expenditures result in Gear showing a production forecast in excess of 6kbpd for Feb through June.

When you guys are caught, busted being dead wrong, you spin yet again. Just admit you were wrong. Cash flow couldnt cover the dividend. PERIOD. Oil must stay over 80 or I gaurentee they will cut div and forever tarnish the stock price into oblivion.

I would agree. They could have easily cut back some capex or abandonment $$ to cover the $2.4M but not a big deal. WCS differential is coming down and WTI going back up. I willing to get paid more than 10% to wait and see that new production come on line. SPR ending and driving season coming.

navajojoe asked "So who thinks the dividend is sustainable?" I do. Since you have no "skin in the game" why do you keep posting your negative views?

People selling today? They were buying this morning and the stock was up along with oil. GXE also didn't show much selling ex-divi. The market is volitile and can swing on a Powell seeze right now. Maybe you should just buy a safe $500 GIC and not be in the stock market.
