RE:RE:FYI: BMO issued a 2021 T5013 ....Since you sold your position in 2020, I'm afraid that you have no choice but to refile - showing a reduced Capital Loss for the liquidation of your HOT.un position. The 2021 T5013 will be your documentary evidence of the RoC issuance. I agree that this is a pain in the a$$ for people in your position. Luckily, I postponed liquidating my position until Jan. 2021 - by which time the unit price had recovered a little bit - so I just incorporate the 2021 RoC into my Capital Loss claim for 2021. Bye bye HOT.un - lost a lot of money over the years - and had the pain of dealing with their complex tax situation (i.e., BMO routinely charged IRS WHT on the entire distribution and no reclaiming of the excess amount paid (on the RoC portion). Anyway - unlike the Furst Nayshuns - put the bad stuff in the past and move on to better things in the future!
