 Hello, I am interested in HOT.DB.V debentures and I have a question that I cannot find an answer to, regardless of the debenture. If I buy a debenture with interest paid on November 30, by what date do I have to buy them to be entitled to interest. Is there an end date (ex-interest) like with dividends? Thanks in advance.

here is my understanding as someone who holds corporate bonds purchased thru my brokerage accounts.  the price paid includes the (pro-rated) value of accrued interest since on coupon date interest is paid only to the owner of record. settlement is 2 bank days from the transaction date so "ex" date is same as stocks.  i also suggest you phone or chat with your brokerage acct rep ...more
