Hockey Hands, I am quite the opposite.  I got smoked on HOU over the Easter weekend.   Thought like many, oil is only going to go up, why not buy a 2X oil bull etf.   Bought on Thursdy trying to time the Saudi/Russia OPEC+ deal.  Got hammered, doubled down twice, only to end up down 43%.  Average cost was 6.50 sold out at 3.74.   Sold not becaues of loss, but

Mat, What do you think of HUC for long term? it follow the December futures only and rollover in June for next year's December. Less risky and could increase in value with the Crude futures. The roll over costs should not be high as it rolls over 18 months in advance (e.g., rolls over Dec 2020 futures for Dec 2021 futures in June 2020). Also, it is 1x which should recover smoothly not like

I feel like everyones firing questions at Mat haha but I have one as well. I agree when you say it is broken and how you should probably sit on the sidelines until this is "fixed", meaning until they reopen new share subscriptions & the SP is closer to the true NAV. What is your strategy for watching this and knowing when the best time to jump in? Just wait for news thay they are

Nothing special.  You pretty mcuh sumed it up.  Once Horizon announces "that all is well", then see what the landscape looks like.  Where oil is and what the curve looks like, are the 2 obvious.  Where we are in the rollover cycle is another.
