RE:RE:RE:RE:likashing buy out of minority shareholders

RE:RE:RE:RE:likashing buy out of minority shareholdersBefore a sale or takeover of minority shareholders the Board would have to obtain an independant fair value assessment of the company not based on the current stock price which we would all agree is not an appropriate reference at this time considering the extraordinary circumstances we are now facing. These will pass like everything else in life.

I happen to own NVU.UN you just agreed to sell itself at $36.25 when the stock was trading at around $31 after a very good run up over the last 6 months. The Board obtained such a fair value assessment that concluded that $36.25 was appropriate considering all present and foreseable relevant metrics.

While I was suggesting that LKS could dream and even possibly try to get his hands on all the shares he does not already own at a ridiculous price because of the current oil crisis there is no way this company will be worth $3 or $4 next year if we go back to $55 oil which is more than likely IMHO. As was suggested however a share buyback could result in increasing his stake without having to make a formal offer to buy. The fact they have not done this before indicates to me that he had until now no such intent. This may change however. This said, if oil prices stay where they are for the remainder of the year the company will be in a cost cutting mode and that would included elimating the div and the idea of share buybacks.
