I think the best plan is to take a page from Quebec's book. Keep all the benefits of confederation-- currency, infrastructure, institutions (which would cost us billions to replace) and just keep demanding more and more favors and special status from the federal government until we end up with what Quebec has-- which is really sovereignty association.
