VN CapitalI can't really get a clear read on things. Some things seem rather peculiar. Going off of memory, lazy me...:
VN Capital "demanding" +/- that HWO sell itself to Cyrus. This seems somewhat absurd. It makes me question how those VN Capital people think.
Then there's some ultimatum from VN Capital that HWO do I don't recall what in x days (say 30) then they send another letter revising the timing on their ultimatum to give them something like 7 days to do xyz. This is another pretty absurd request, with unrealistic timelines, etc.
The latest VN Capital letter claims that they had discussions with Cyrus agreeing that minority share holder concerns would be assuaged with the simple addition of a board member, and that HWO is violently rejecting that suggestion. This sounds like a very reasonable request, but my nose tells me, based on the prior two absurdities from VN Capital, that there might be things that haven't been revealed by VN Capital when presenting this seemingly reasonable request. HWO's violent reaction isn't logical. VN Capital is misrepresenting something here I think.
VN Capital's statement of just sell all the assets also seems a bit YOLO. HWO has been steadily and measuredly selling off assets and getting excellent prices. Team snubbing obviously doesn't have tons of capital sitting in their bank account, they had to take a loan from HWO for part of the purchase. So VN Capital thinking team snubbiing can buy the rest of team snubbing is very shallow thinking. What if a decent price can't be had for the PNG rigs in a super fast fire sale, which seems to be what VN Capital is demanding. Doesn't it seem brain dead to fire sell the PNG rigs now, just when we are at the cusp of a nat gas exploration explosion in PNG? It does to me.
The more I mull this around in my head, the more I think VN Capital is... something. Something is wrong. These guys may be somewhat whacky. Maybe they just aren't all that realisitic about how they look at some things.
With that being said, their intervention was timely and extremely valuable in stopping that horrible spinoff idea.
Idle thoughts.
