Bringing out the facts and sometime having to spank a few monkies in the process.
Hey DB, Well my intention is certainly NOT to be spanking Vinnie or his monkey, or anyone else's monkey for that matter; I have my hands full spanking my own these days - err... that probably sounded better in my brain before I committed it to the board! None-the-less, I do not mean any disrespect to Vinnie. I think, like most posters he's trying to provide some insight into the company and Lord knows we've all been waiting on this one a LONG time (I think he is wrong, but we can respectfully disagree).
My point of the post was to refocus what Decter said. Decter actually likes the company and Decter was in IAE for a long time. But Decter is not flying in and out of companies on a weekly or monthly basis, he's there to make money and he takes a position and lets the company develop. In the case of IAE he felt that the company had developed to a point where the future marginal returns where not as great as selling out and using the funds to take another long term position in some other company.
I agree with you, and I know this from personal experience, that trying to time the market as Vinnie is suggesting is a recipe for losing money, even if you win a few, I guarantee, absolutely guarantee you that you will end up having less money than when you started. There are people out there that can make money trading, but they ain't spending their time on this board, they're spending their time trading. And their not trading on stocks like IAE, they are looking for huge volume swings where a penny or two can make you a lot of cash. Trying to trade on a company like IAE or BNK will lose you money - this much I have learned.
