Surge in demand for repair & remodel applications

Surge in demand for repair & remodel applications

Analyst Actions: RBC Capital on Canada's Forest Products Companies
02:32 PM EDT, 06/09/2020 (MT Newswires) -- While COVID-19 clearly had a negative impact on demand for wood products (and composite substitutes) including lumber, OSB, and siding, the decline has been far more modest than expected, writes RBC Capital. This has been driven by a surge in demand for repair & remodel applications in addition to resilience from new residential construction. On the supply side, producers have been quick to reduce production and match supply with demand, allowing pricing to remain at attractive levels.
