The jokes write themselves

So Tal says a good quarter when they lost $1.5MM cin operations but made a gain due to FX.. curious how they always menton constant currency when FX doesn't go their way but downplay it when it does.

All I need to hear bottom line is that they conttinue to grow revenues BELOW THE RATE OF INFLATION which tells you they are actually shrinking not growing. The rest almost doesn't matter after that. You can literally buy a guranteed government invetment with no principal risk and outpoerfrom Actuityads BEFORE applying returns on a risk adjusted basis.

And by the way, comparing to TTD or PUBM is fine but there is no law that says you have to own any of these companies.

Good luck.

I hate to burst your bubble but most companies suffer when the economy is on the verge of a recession. Costs such as energy and labour tend to outpace price increases which explains why margins on the S&P 500 are shrinking. Acuityads has to face wage pressure from its workers as well as growth initiatives in its r&d and marketing. This works with a lag and so spending on growth needs to ...more

Burst my bubble? If you assume 2-5% sales growth in an inflationary market when their costs are rising and they have to keep paying out more share based comp which offsets the share bubacks than why do you own the stock? Almost every retail investor out there is conditioned to zero interest rates. You have to look at equity risk risk premium and your alternative to stocks to determine the risk ...more

I graduation from Mathematics and Economics specialist degree at UofT. You don't need to teach me about math.  You are a waste of my time.

Ok I'll spar with you one last time.  Show me mathematically why this is a bad investment. Then I'll come in after you're done.

Here you go: Revenue Growth YoY = 5.3% (self serve only 4.4%) Gross Costs Growth = 6.6% >> Costs growing faster than revenue Adj. EBITDA = -62.9% YoY (yes, that's very negative) Here is a recap of the financial negatives: 1. Revenue growing at tepid pace. Since inflation is running between 6-8% depending on Canada vs US you would at least expect revenue to keep up with inflation ...more

This part makes no sense to me. Are you equating Illumin growth with overall revenue growth?  Illumin sequential growth has been very strong ever since it's adoption in the market. Illumin revenue since it's its fourth quarter 2020 to present day goes as follows:  Q4 20 : $ 1m  Q1 21: $3.2m Q2 21: 5.2m Q3 21: $7.4m Q4 21 : $10.2m  Q1 22: $7.9m Q2 ...more

"You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make them drink" You are banking everything on illumin when they can declare each incremenatl rev $ is legacy vs illumin on a whim. This is the second biggest error you are making. Ms. Market sees through it, why don't you? The biggest error you are making is trusting the management team. They have all made their money. The equity ...more

If you have reason to believe the company is committing fraud by lying to investors then you should take that up with the Ontario Securities Commission.  We have 2 consecutive quarters of sequential growth and that is largely due to Illumin client growth which, by the way, is "real" growth which by definition beats inflation.  If you don't trust Tal Hayek and team ...more

Welcome to invesitng in Canadian small caps! I'm not saying it's fraud, I'm saying the line between the products is blurry and it can easily be straddled strategically. Interpret that as you will. Gross margins are fine, I didn't go after gross margins. The problem is they cannot grow organically unless they start eating into their margins.  If you think my argument is weak ...more

looking back over the last couple years it is clear to me that the markets as a whole were overvalued. Acuityads should never have reached as high as it did. You can blame this on the governments for printing so much money and forcing people in their homes diddle daddling on platforms such as Robinhood.  You can make a sound argument that Acuityads may not even be worth $10 or even $5 a ...more

From the conference call: Dillon Heslin   I wanted to start with the client mix, like with the self-serve 4% sequential growth, how much of that are net new customers to your company versus someone you might have converted from a legacy software?   Tal Hayek   The majority of it is new logos - so we added in Q3, we added 13 new customers in the illumin self-serve ...more

I am in no way saying this is gonna double in the next couple months, but I'm curious for where they have a possibility to be a couple years from now. They couldn't buy any companies at those unreasonable valuations in the last year, and thankfully they didn't. They will work on growing illumin organically for now along with probably finding a synergistic acquisition when things get ...more

Btw, I meant to say "I graduated" and I figure you would tell me english is not my strong suit.  Here is a question for you. Is the company cash flow positive?
