Why would Jon Love buy instead of Kingsett ?

Why would Jon Love buy instead of Kingsett ?In the private equity arena are the principals of the company allowed to buy shares in their name for the sake of the company? In this case Kingsett.
Just curious as Love has spent about $15m buying up shares in the last few months and it would seem to me that most individuals don't have that kind of coin to spend. Looks like he wants 10% of the company and if my math is correct he is now at or very close to that level.
And I wouldn't be surprised if him and his cohorts aren't snapping up the series G debentures.
Why would Innvest want to change the terms of those debentures and only buy up 25% of them? The only logical reason is the conversion price as those debentures where cheap, didn't expire until 2019 and low interest rate.
