RE:RE:RE:Will IPL shareholders get chance to vote on PPL merger?

RE:RE:RE:Will IPL shareholders get chance to vote on PPL merger? If IPL wanted to go it alone why did they not let the BF low ball offer get voted on. Judging on comments on this board there are a lot of IPL shareholders against both the PPL and BF offer. I understand it was the duty of the BOD to try to get a better offer and they did.

There were ways for IPL board to say they tried to get another offer but could not come to terms. For example, the break fee that is much hated could have been used as an excuse not to sign a deal with PPL. I am sure that was the first thing PPL demanded and if not agreed to the talks would have likley halted.

Because of the other offer my gut tells me the board of IPL is not confident in going it alone.

Once again many shareholders have expressed a desire to go it alone.

What is stopping the IPL board to come out with a statement saying that after considerable consideration yada yada we strongly suggest turning down all offers and we are going to complete HPC?

There silence on "going alone" is telling IMO. Either for or against. I do understand they need to present all offers which they have done. In presenting them they surely could have said they are close to finishing HPC and we suggest you rejecting all offers at this point.
