At this point of the process they basically can't do anything - they have locked into a process to move the company and list on a new exchange. They can't just announce a dividend in the middle of this process. Keep in mind that the shares we now know as IT will cease to exist once the move takes place, so any dividend on them would also cease.

They may well declare a dividend once they complete the move - I think it's been contemplated previously - but given the talk of a buyout, I'd prefer to see an aggressive share buyback to boost shareholder value.

FWIW, the company's inability to take steps to defend the share price is probably the biggest reason the recent short attack was so successful.
