RE:RE:RE:Question !

RE:RE:RE:Question !Codelco : NO, the company belong to the Government of Chili and it will be politically impossible for the company to export capital to an other country.

Freeport-McMorran : NO, has still a debt issue, problems in Indonesia, and just sold his giant Tenke-fungorume copper-cobalt deposit for half its book value. The company has also developed bad relationship with Congolese civil servants.

Glencore : NO/YES/NOT LIKELY Glencore is the largest investor in the DRC/Copper belt. Glencore has just agreed to buy shares owned by Gertler in Mutanda.

BHP : MAY BE, the company has few assets in Africa and it could be a good strategy to diversify in an area where most of the big mines are going to be discovered in the next 20-25 years.

Lundin : MAY BE, Has a lot of cash but just get out of the DRC. It had an option to buy Freeport's share of Tenke Fugurume at a very good price but decide to pass.

RIO : NO/NOT LIKELY. Has a debt problem and major issues with the former Yvanhoe property in Mongolia. Will likely pass.

China/Indian interests : LIKELY. Both countries are in growing rapidly and need copper to built their infrastructure. Chinese companies are major investors in the Congo and knows how to operate in this country.

Friedland will likely sell Kipushi at a good price to finance his other projects in the DRC and in the Congo. The likelyhood for Yvanhoe to find other Kamoa type deposits is high and Ivanhoe/Friedland could continue to do what it (he) is good at, finding new mineral deposits.
