This is a boring stock nowNobody cares if they find more copper. Quantity is valuable, and important longer term, but only a discovery of a quality equal to or greater than that of the heart of Kakula will attract additional interest. How can you top that discovery?
The key is financing and going into production. To get the best deal they will have to get closure on the tax issue, which will happen, but could be months away. And a copper price over the psychological level of $4, or $4.50, at all time highs, will start to make headlines and attract general interest.
Exploration is back to geophysics, which means wildcatting is not making headway as the trend falls away and they lose the scent. This will take time.
Insider buying was only one director. 100k shares is not a trifling amount, and is bullish. The rest was just option grants, which are always done in a market swoon to maximise compensation. NEOs mostly sold their optioned shares in the 4's, except the chairman and the CEO. The grant is only moderately bullish, because it means the company expects the stock not to go lower than 2 3/4, in all likelihood. This is a fair bet. It is just too cheap at these levels.
In the absolute worst case scenario, if the government nationalised, this would still trade for a billion dollars, because of the litigation asset. Therefore, downside is pretty minimal. Upside is immense. You can trade it, but if you want real business progress, it will take months and years. The wait will be worth it for the patient. Management is doing all the right things, and it will be a winner.
I wouldn't mind registering shares, taking delivery, and closing my brokerage account. Mail me my dividends, or a cheque on the buyout.
