You invest your way and I'll invest my way. Your statement that "The risk in these exploration stocks require 3-10X your money to get involved." sounds like something an inexperienced amateur investor would say.
Simplistic old-school buy-and-hold investment rules of thumb like that don't work very well in the current market for speculative volatile stocks like IVN. You should stick with GICs if you don't want to take the time to understand how to invest in the current stock market investment environment.
Investors who know what they are doing bought IVN in late January and sold in late February for a 50% gain in 30 days. That is how short-term-hold swing traders like me make their money. Risk and stock volatility are only to be feared if you don't know how to trade in a volatile market.
