Kamoa-Kakula-fatal accident-investigation
The consequences - quoting the IVN press release - are as follows:(1) mining activities at the Kakula underground mine have temporarily ceased. The Phase 1 and 2 concentrators continue to operate, drawing from surface ore stockpiles. Query: how long do the stockpiles last before the mining stop affects the production of the two concentrators ? (2) As regards the investigation by appropriate bodies in DRC: no update on whether the process has formally started/and when it will end. The press in DRC does not provide further info so far.

thanks for verifying that operations never ceased. 4.5 million tons stockpiled divide by daily thru put of the concentrators comes out to a long time

With the DRC receiving 20% of the revenue from IVN I'm sure they will come to a solution sooner than later.
